Rental Rules

The rules for renting a boat are determined by the rental company and Greek law and are intended to ensure the safety of the renter, passengers and the boat.

License Requirements and Driving for a Speedboat Over 30hp

The renter must have a speedboat operator’s license for at least five (5) years and be over 25 years of age, with the ability to safely operate the boat. In case the renter does not have the required license, the presence of a professional skipper may be required.

Requirements and Driving for a Boat Up to 30hp

The renter must be over 21 years of age. Does not require a speedboat operator’s license, but must have knowledge of Navigational Rules, good handling skills and the ability to operate the boat safely.

Recognition of Navigational Rules:

The renter must know and follow navigational rules, such as speed limits, prohibited or restricted navigation areas and safety signs.

Consumption of Alcohol and Illegal Substances:

Consumption of alcohol or illegal substances during navigation is strictly prohibited. The renter and passengers must be sober and able to operate the boat safely.

Trading Areas:

The renter must stay within the designated areas and routes set by the company or local authority. All boats are equipped with tracking devices. Navigation is not permitted in areas where there are dangerous conditions or prohibitions and outside Greek territory.

Use of Safety Equipment:

The use of the prescribed safety equipment, such as life jackets, rescue missiles, fire extinguishers and flashing lights, is mandatory during navigation.

Boat Care:

The renter is responsible for the good condition of the boat during the rental and must ensure that it is returned in the same condition as when it was received.

Passenger Limitation:

The number of passengers must not exceed the number permitted by the lessor and the legal requirements. There are safety limits for the number of passengers, who must be in positions designated by the rental company. Minors must be accompanied by adults. Children under 3 years of age are not allowed to board. In all cases, passengers must be able to swim and use life jackets.

Weather Conditions:

The rental of the boat may depend on the weather conditions. If there is a storm, strong wind above four (4) Beaufort or other dangerous weather conditions, the company may cancel or postpone the rental.

Boarding and Disembarking:

The renter must adhere to the boarding and disembarking times agreed upon with the company. Regardless of the time, delay in returning the boat may result in additional charges. All our boats are located in organized parking lots and the lifting-launching hours are determined by them.

Cleanliness and Return of the Boat:

The boat must be returned clean and in good condition. If the boat is dirty or needs maintenance due to the renter’s negligence, additional charges may apply.

Compensations and Liability:

The renter assumes responsibility for any damage to the boat during the rental, unless the damage is due to natural phenomena or other situations not due to the renter. All our speedboats are insured with mixed insurance.

Unpermitted Use of the Boat:

The boat is not allowed to be used for commercial purposes, e.g. for passenger or cargo transport, for water sports, but only for personal entertainment.

Deposit and Guarantee & Prices:

The renter will need to pay a deposit or guarantee, which will be refunded if the boat is returned in good condition. The price of boat rentals varies depending on the type of boat, the location and the duration of the rental. Prices can range from €150.00 per day for small boats up to €600.00 plus VAT.

Fuel and refueling:

The refueling of the boat with fuel is undertaken by the rental company. The cost of fuel is borne exclusively by the renter. The boat is delivered with full fuel tanks and the cost is paid upon return of the boat.

Copy of both sides of the ID card or passport.
Copy of the speedboat operator’s license.
Information for issuing payment receipts/invoice.

Payments.

All payments can be made by cash, bank transfer, debit-credit cards (visa). It is important to read the terms and conditions carefully before renting.
